About InterAssist

InterAssist provides training in life-supporting Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use and basic first aid for individuals and small groups.

Our MEDIC First Aid® courses are evidence-based, scenario-focused and hands-on. They are conducted in English in a supportive, low stress environment. Participants of all backgrounds and life experiences are welcomed. We do not discriminate on the basis of nationality, ethnicity, sexuality, gender or ability.

Courses are comprehensive but flexible. They can be tailored to your specific personal and professional needs.

The goal is to build your knowledge base, practical skills and confidence to assist others effectively in emergency situations.

InterAssist is affiliated with MEDIC First Aid International Inc., a leading provider of CPR, AED and first aid training worldwide. We are a registered Training Center with MFA Japan, one of five global headquarters of MEDIC First Aid International.

Why MEDIC First Aid?

Instructors authorised by MEDIC First Aid and its sister company American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) train and certify around 500,000 people annually worldwide.

Since 1978, nearly 33 million emergency care providers across more than 100 countries have been certified.

ASHI and MEDIC First Aid programs are equivalent to those developed by the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross. They conform to the same national and international standards. They are accepted by more than 6,200 regulatory agencies, licencing boards, national associations, commissions and councils in more than 550 occupations and professions.

In Japan, MEDIC First Aid is one of the few programs that offers combined CPR, AED and basic first aid training in a comprehensive one-day course (BasicPlus). Even our half-day course (CarePlus) includes essential topics such as responding to cardiac arrest or choking, as well as (optionally) serious bleeding, shock and stroke.

Since introducing MEDIC First Aid in 1988, MFA Japan has pioneered the development and continuous improvement of emergency response training in this country. Informed by student feedback and evolving evidence, for example, MFA Japan was the first organisation to eliminate compulsory skill tests and written exams, as well as the first to offer AED training.

Facilities & hygiene

InterAssist’s training venue is modern, comfortable and well ventilated. Up-to-date audio-visual equipment and training mannequins are used. On-site private parking for one vehicle is available if needed.

If Covid-19 countermeasures and facilities permit, training courses can also be run at your home or office. Additional travel costs apply - please enquire.

We take participants' safety seriously, and our operations are guided by updates from MFA Japan and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.

Various infection transmission countermeasures are used, including high-strength alcohol-based sanitiser, face masks, gloves, temperature checks and air purification.

Facilities and equipment are thoroughly cleaned before and after each course.

As an added precaution during the COVID-19 pandemic, courses are currently limited to a maximum of four participants.
